Sounds like most bikers are like me, we want our bikes to be different just like us, to reflect our indiviuality, the same reason we get tats, or buy a special T shirt.
I've been having fun "customizing" this SV650 I got, thought I would share the mods I've done so far:
DIY rear fender elimination (that thing was U.G.L.Y.), replaced the stock handlebars (too narrow for me) with drag bars with a 1" lift, replaced the throttle with one for an F6(Yamaha) for better control and to be able to change grips to foam ones, put on bar end mirrors (now I don't see my shoulders when I look in them), Buell footpegs (1" lower) for my old knees, DIY radiator guard, frame sliders, swingarm sliders, dark tinted wind screen, modified the exaust a bit, and general maintanance. She already had a K&N filter set up so performance wise she seems OK.
